The Jungle Girls

Philippa Smith– A former HBO executive, Philippa is the mother of three overly-energetic young boys.  Philippa currently functions as our chief executive officer with her fingers in every pie.  A Founder of JuiceBoxJungle, she also is one of JuiceBoxJungle’s producers and on-screen moderators.  Philippa went to Cambridge University, grew up all over the world and loves reality shows and reading about the human brain (go figure!).

Melissa Lawrence – JuiceBoxJungle’s other producer and on-screen moderator and Philippa’s close colleague at HBO for many years, Melissa is the mother of three sons and (coming soon!) a newborn daughter!  Also a Founder of JuiceBoxJungle, Melissa serves as our chief creative officer, keeping an eye on all creative matters, including all production and branding.  She is a graduate of Amherst College, Harvard Law School and Cambridge University.  Melissa speaks three languages and loves to throw parties and build Lego’s with her kids. 

Sarah Eisner – A former product manager at Cisco Systems who left to help build an innovative baby bottle business, blog her heart out, and mother two insanely athletic boys, Sarah serves as our chief marketing officer, managing JuiceBoxJungle's online presence, leading marketing efforts with moms and bloggers, and running business development deals with our leading consumer brands.  With her engineering background (in which she holds a masters degree from Stanford) and talent as a blogger, Sarah marries JuiceBoxJungle's snazzy content with the dynamic Mommy blogosphere. When not at her computer or snuggling with her boys, Sarah most often can be found in the pool or on the soccer field.

How we came to be

Friends at HBO and pals as new moms, Melissa Lawrence and Philippa Smith developed the JuiceBoxJungle concept once they had stepped away from their lives as late-night deal makers in television’s corporate world.  Walking together daily in an effort to lose that pesky “baby weight”, they continually found themselves in funny conversations about the insane pressures on modern day parents.  Tandem Entrepreneurs, a Silicon Valley venture firm, heard about JuiceBoxJungle and, recognizing that original video content in the parenting area is in short supply, quickly signed on to invest.  Herself a mom, Sarah Eisner spotted the opportunity to marry this fresh and irresistible content with the tens of thousands of Moms online.  Together, this dynamic East coast-West-coast trio is braving the JuiceBoxJungle every day: among them, they are raising nine children under the age of 6!
