I believe that if they are too small to go to school and there is smart tv, made specialy for their age, I don’t have a problem with her seeing a bit of that while I do house chores.

We have our son earn “screen time.” He can do this by doing chores and other positive behaviors. He has a screen time bank, and we have little circles that each represent 15 minutes. If he’s earned it, he can cash it in. This has been a win-win situation!

We do watch more t.v. than I would like, although, it’s not something I am proud of. When my daughter was born I swore we’d have more reading time then t.v. time, then by six months old I just wanted enough time to take a relaxing shower, so on went Baby Einstein, next came the excuse to get things done around the house so I upgraded the programming to get Sprout & Noggin (preschool “safe” channels) before I knew it she was watching more than the recommended amount for her age. In our home it’s become a habit, she’s an only child so I turn it on while she’s at the table so she’s not alone while I finish things around the house, or when she’s sick… I know they are all excuses, I will turn it off when I notice she’s getting hyper & put on some music, but I admit we don’t get enough time outside as we use too. : ( Darn television, it’s like a vortex!
